Enzo Papi and Amineh Pakravan bought a small plot of land in 1973 near the medieval town of Riparbella located in the province of Pisa, Tuscany overlooking the Ligurian Sea. The old farm was in ruins and the land was wasted scrubland but in a distant past, this site used to be wine country.
The pre-conditions for cultivating grapes were there: the micro-climate dominated by sunshine and a light breeze from the Mediterranean, the diverse and complex ground soil packed with minerals and the gentle, well-exposed slopes.
The grapes are rigorously hand-picked. The yield of each vineyard, even when of a single variety, is harvested and processed separately. It is assembled after a passage in oak to obtain the best expression of each vintage. Modern technology is used simply to enhance traditional methods.
Tuscan entrepreneur and successful businessman, Enzo owns and manages a beautiful winery in the hills of Tuscany called Pakravan-Papi, producing award-winning, remarkable wines.
