TENUTA MATILDE ZASSO
Today the company is directed with professionalism and with respect for the traditions that stem from the Vicidomini family, Salvatore and Matilde and their five son, all of whom take an active role in the company.
The Tenuta Matilde Zasso is one of the largest wineries in the Flegrea area. Three generations of wine and the only winery in the Pozzuoli area to produce the D.O.C. Campi Flegrei wine.
At the end of the 800 grandfather Michele Vicidomini, inspired by his love for his family’s land and the charm of the great wines of the Campi Flegrei started producing small amounts of wine for the family, using traditional methods of processing and selling the wine in "quartaruli".
In 1958 his son, Salvatore Vicidomini with his wife Matilda, wanting to continue the family tradition, moved the headquarters to Pozzuoli near the Solfatara volcano and begin to bottle and sell the wine, turning their passion into a great company.
In 1994, following the recognition of the D.O.C. status new wines were introduced and the company was expanded, acquiring also new vines.
Even though the company is heavily linked to tradition with regards to grape cultivation, and growing autoctonous vines, their principle objective is to embrace innovative technology and expansion in order to further improve their product.
